iPhones get even more expensive in India because of import duty hike

iPhones have never traditionally broken sales records in India because they're quite expensive, and this latest development isn't helping the situation one bit. The Indian government has now re-imposed a 10% service welfare tax on top of the existing basic 20% import duty. Thus, Apple has swiftly upped the prices for the devices it sells in the subcontinent that it doesn't make there. Affected are the iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus, iPhone 11 Pro, and iPhone 11 Pro Max.
